Smile I can't install vmware tools on kali guest

Here are my screen shots:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...1&d=1439260071

I'm trying to follow this:

docs.kali.org/general-use/install-vmware-tools-kali-guest

I've tried these also but my screen freezes in place midway through the steps like the above screen shots:

An article

and another article.

I also tried installing it from the menu, but it still froze up. What happened? The install vmware tools in the menu turns to cancel installation, but it never finishes installing.

The above thumbnail is of the debian tar files that I tried installing from online after I couldn't get it to work. I need help really badly.

0) obvious typo in the resource file, see http://docs.kali.org/faq/kali-sources-list-faq
1) you exited before installing kernel headers, what more do you want us to say?..
2) becoming familiar with the distro that Kali is based on would help.

Question Is this a good repo list?

I have this as my repo list. I tried it and there are still a few problems. Could someone tell me what I need to add onto it?

it says "waiting for gateway.wifast.com" and "could not resolve http://kali.org" - could this mean you're trying to do this from a public wifi hotspot? which won't let you connect to kali.org?

I pointed you to the FAQ which shows what the repo list should look like.

I tried that also, but also found out that I didn't have a vmware image. I had a normal ISO. I'm downloading a prebuilt vmware image or kali 2.0 and then looking at the repos of that to make sure they are correct. I think that might be the problem. If it is, then I'll install vmware tools on that and I think it will be fine. I don't know yet, but wish me luck.
