I'm using Fedora 8 on a Inspiron 9200. How do I get the Media buttons to work?

Well the title says it all. I have an inspiron 9200. I upgraded to Fedora 8 after a crash. The media buttons worked (at least the volume control did). I then restored from my backup, and they don't work anymore. Does anyone know how to restore the function of at least the volume control buttons. Thanks

Never mind, I figured it out. I had to change the keybord layout to Dell inspiron 6xxx/8xxx and then restart.
