I'm looking for something like macromedia fireworks


Is there any good graphics software in linux? any recomendations would be appreciated, I would like to dissapear microsoft of my life and i'm trying to go step by step. Thanks.!

Have a look and see if anything fits... I don't use much in the way of Grapics software, just The GIMP on occasion.

Thanks for that, I downloaded and I'm using gimp, pretty nice but will check the other ones.

I think inkscape can get you part way there...

I just tried inkscape a few days ago and it was an easy move from Fireworks.

I'm not sure what your needs are.

I saw that the Gimp has an ability to make an image map, which is essential for my web design.

I like Krita. It has promise but a long ways to go. I Love the UI compared to Gimp.

Yes, basically it is for web design. I want to make shapes etc etc for publicity and demanding customers. I will check out the ones you are telling me about. Thanks!
