I'm looking for a tutorial on writting a unix shell in C


As the title says, I want to write in C a simple shell. Do you know a good tutorial?

That was the second google hit for "how to write your own linux shell"

I'm sure you can find more. I don't know enough to help you other then that.

easiest way would be too look at the source for one that already exists, try have alot of text parsing stuff, i was thinking about doing one today acutally ,but i realised i know very little C as of yet.

That's a good idea indiestory, but all I could find were pretty complex shells and hard to follow the code. That's whay I prefer a tutorial.
