Hi,
Is there any way to play or convert a DRM protected audio file into something which is not DRM protected in linux?
In simple words :- Is it possible to remove DRM protection using some software in GNU/linux?
I saw a post by lonoyA , but it suggests a windows program.
Intention: My intention is not to do anything immoral, just wanted to use one DRM protected .wma file for a Theater play as background. Need to do some small edition to fit into the play.
Freeme2 is a program based on famous freeme application created by Beale
Screamer and based on viodentias findings. It strips wm-drm protection from
wmv/asf/wma files as well as from video/audio streams.

If you're involved in theater, then you should already know that what you're planning to do is contrary to the law unless you pay the proper fee; irrespective of whether the music is DRM protected or not.

Hi,
Thanks for the info on freeme2. I took the source code of it to compile for linux from sourceforge. When I quickly tried to compile, it was giving errors, but I hope I will be able to solve that.
To Quakeboy02
It is not a public performance, just a theater play competition in our college. I hope I am justifiable.
Hi,
I did go through each and every post, it all finally boils down to some debate or suggests some windows software.
It looks like the only solution I now have is to find one windows machine and do the brute force method suggested by jefro, because I am not even able to play it in GNU/Linux, Or shall try some windows software suggested in other posts.
Thanks
