How to Mount NTFS

I need to know how to mount my windowsxp NTFS filesystem on my fedcore3. I've read a couple of walkthroughs, but they all lead to using the 'fdisk' command. When I type 'fdisk' it tells me "command not found". So, help? Anyone?

fdisk wont help you mount, fdisk as i believe is for operations of partitioning. mount -t ntfs /pathtoyour/ntsfpartition /whereto/mountit should work unless you dont have ntfs support installed i hope this helped.

So, how do I make it so that my kernel supports ntfs? It said that my current kernel doesn't support it, how can I go about updating it?

thanks, btw, it seems as though that was the right command!

Update: my linux kernel is 2.6.11-1.27_FC3 i686.

Great, I got the windows filesystem mounted, now I just need to give myself access to it! How can I change the permissions?

NTFS in Fedora 3

This is a great place to learn about this and will help you as kernels change.

http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/fedora3.html

Be sure to read all the info before taking action. Also read how to permanently mount your NTFS partition in /etc/fstab.

Good Luck and Post back with questions or problems!
