how to make a chart with holes?

hello

i need to make a chart and the data i have range from 16 to almost 8 million. so, i'd like to make a chart with "holes", so that the 16 is at all visible.

i mean, i need like 2 charts on one: the lower one going up to say 20, than a "hole" and the upper one going from say 7 999 990 to 8 million.

help me please...

Phew. Sorry but I have no idea what you are talking about. What kind of chart do you mean? And "holes"?? Please please provide more details. Thanks.

ok. imagine having to put 16 and 8 million in one chart. obviously, on the chart, the rectangle for 8 million is so big that the rectangle for 16 is so small that it's in practice invisibe.

i need to overcome this somehow. i've seen many times charts which were like made of 2 charts:
- the upper one with numbers from 7 999 990 to 8 million on the y-axis and the upper part of the rectangle for 8 million;
- blank space in between;
- the lower one with number from 0 to say 18 on the y-axis and only the lower part of the rectangle for 8 million and the whole rectangle for 16.

i think there's got to be a professional name for it, but i just don't know it.
