Sir I installed ubuntu 9.10.I wish to load java programming language in
that.I collected the following deb packages
1.sun-java6-bin_6-15-1_i386
2.sun-java6-jdk_6-15-1_i386
3.sun-java6-plugin_6-15-1_i386
4.sun-java6-fonts_6-15-1_all
5.sun-java6-doc_6-15-1_all
6.java-common_0.30ubuntu5_all
when I am trying to install sun-java6-bin_6-15-1_i386 it is asking for
a non available ia32-sun-java6-bin-deb of i386 architecture.SO please
tell me the detailed procedure to install java in ubuntu 9.10 off-line.
I am not having a working internet connection for ubuntu linux.And also
signify where the off line java installer available for java on ubuntu 9.10.thank you sir.
Don't manually get debs. Install Java via the package manager and this will all be taken care of for you. Make sure you've enabled Multiverse and Universe in Software Sources first.
Edit: Oops, missed the "no internet" part. In that case, grab the ia32-sun-java6-bin.deb and install it.
Offline installer : Click the package. Works for one at a time only.
More convinient : Chain install ......
sudo dpkg -i <package> <package> <package> <package> <package> <package>
