How to install grub to BOTH hdd's - /boot on software raid1
I've been burned by this in the past, I need to make sure this is done right. I have a server with 2 hard drives with a linux autodetect software RAID1 mirroring them. The boot partition is on /dev/md0 - one of the arrays.
I have some questions. If the MBR is install on /dev/sda, and that's the drive that fails, it will not boot. I want to make sure grub is installed on BOTH drives, so if sda fails, the system will still boot off sdb. How do I accomplish this? There are no references to /dev/sd[ab] in grub.cfg, just set root='(md0)'. Is it really as simple as:
grub-install /dev/sda
grub-install /dev/sdb
And I need to do the same thing to a server with lilo, so basically the same questions.
