How to get rid of screensaver? (FC 2)

I'm having this problem because I hate screen savers.

[ ... ]

I once installed Fedora Core 2 and there was a dialog that allowed me to set the screensaver to just blank the screen. But in my current copy of FC 2 there is no such dialog.

Is there another option? How can I change the screensaver options of the command line?

Or can I install the previous dialog somehow. Is there an RPM file of it? Can I install it using "yum"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

dm

[Never mind -- it's right-click on the desktop, configure desktop, screensaver.]

xscreensaver-demo is the configuration utility for xscreensaver (which is most likely what you have).
If you'd like to disable xscreensaver completely, try checking your .xinitrc file for a line enabling the daemon... comment it out and startx.
Since I hate screensavers too, I use DPMS which is enabled in xorg.conf or XF86Config
under Section "Monitor"
example:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "955df"
HorizSync 60-85
VertRefresh 50-160
Option "DPMS"
EndSection

And under the Section "ServerFlags" you set your options...
example:
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "BlankTime" "15"
Option "StandbyTime" "0"
Option "SuspendTime" "0"
Option "OffTime" "90"
EndSection
