How to configure file extension applications in Midnight Commander?

I'm wondering how to properly configure Midnight Commander to view/edit files by extension. I've edited ~/.config/mc/mc.ext, see attached of said file. I've not had problems with it until I upgraded to Fedora 18 from 16. I want it so if I hit return on a .jpg file it will open with gthumb and similar results for other files. If you open the file and search for "image" repeatedly you will come to "include/image", which will indicate images should be opened with either gthumb or fbi, according to which run level is being used. Is something wrong with this? Thanks ahead of time.
