thats a log file? looks more a like the rpmbuild code itself.
anyways i googled a bit and found this, have a look at it, maybe it turns out useful. what it is where 2 get it
basically i liked this:

DESCRIPTION
Acme::ProgressBar provides a simple solution designed to provide accurate countdowns. No progress bar object needs to be created, and all the calculation of progress through total time required is handled by the module itself.
SYNOPSIS
use Acme::ProgressBar;
progress { do_something_slow };
[edit]
after reading the rpm spec file from sailu_mvn and after reading unSpawn's post i realized there is no way to interact with rpmbuild and find out what's its processing currently, hence no way of knowing when to print what progress status. certainly there must be a way but i don't think we can find it if we continue to use rpmbuild.[/edit]

i'm not referring buildscript_withlog as a logfile. i refer to that as another bash script that handles building and creates a logfile. the buildscript will be the child process while the main script that i'm showing you is the parent process. sorry if i was not clear.
