How do you use swaret?

I'm trying to use swaret and i'm not sure how to use it... i'm using this guide shilo.is-a-geek.com/slack and i'm stuck at the second part, i don't know what to do, i've done up to this part where you do updatedb, after i hit enter by typing that in nothing happns, it just goes to the next line so i think it updated the database, how do i do the next step, i made a folder called swaret, and then i have the three sub folders, i opened the console in the swaret folder, so when i type ls, ill see the three subfolders and when i tried to do swaret --update i get
Code:
bash-2.05b# ls
etc install usr
bash-2.05b# swaret --update
bash: swaret: command not found
bash-2.05b#
i'm stuck, how do i update swaret? thanks!
