how do I get xinetd to give me an ident?

Hi, I need my ident to be ben

xinetd came with Red Hat Enterprise that I'm running

now i created a user "ben" and when im logged in as ben I need my ident to be ben (or i dont care if the ident for the machine is ben no matter what im logged in as) for the program called pftpfxp-mew

basically when I connect to an ftp site it does an ident request for verify the user. Right now its being rejected as *@<ip here>
when I need to to be ben@<ip here>

how do i get xinetd going?
