How do I add programs to the start menu

How do I manually create a link form the 'start menu' (or whatever it's called in Linux) to a program.
I've installed Suse 10 from a magazine dvd and installed a couple of games via RPM but they dont show up under 'Games'. I've tried various How-To's, but can't find the answer.
Can anyone help?

Welcome to LQ!
You don't say if you are using KDE or Gnome (or other!).
For KDE R-Click the K and choose Menu Editor.
Sometimes, just opening the editor, then saving the settings is all that is needed to make applications appear on the menu, other times you have to add an entry manually.

Thanks for the help. Suse has a green logo which I rt clicked to edit the menu. Finally I managed to add the games to the list.
