normally you can just open up 'network neibourhood'/'my network places' on the windows desktop and browse your way over to the samba server.
you dont really have to do alot of config work with the client machines themselves, you just need to have 'file and printer sharing' installed on all the windows machines.
you do have to login to the samba server over the wire, so you will need user logins for each user [5 logins i assume] and a share set up for each user [see /etc/samba/smb.conf to add shares].
some commands/utils you might want to look at: smbpasswd, smbadduser, SWAT.
