Help with install od realplayer10

I am new to linux and know the basics. I have done alot of reseach on installing a bin file, but I seem to can't make the commands work.

I want to install Real player, however it's a bin file; so i first need to make it an executable file.

I have used the command "chmod a+x RealPlayer10GOLD.bin" however I get an error message. I seem to be in the right directory as well.

was wondering if anyone could help.

It would of course be very useful to post the exact error message.
