Okay, I'm confused now. I already installed gtk+-2.2.4 so that gaim would work and it does just fine. Now I'm trying to install gtk-gnutella which uses gtk-config to determine what version of gtk+ is installed. I manually removed gtk+-1.2 that was installed by default, but gtk-config still thinks that gtk+-1.2 is installed. I made a half-baked attempt at trying to reconfigure gtk-config (I tried to reset path and exec-path) to no avail. Can i just reconfigure gtk-config to see gtk+2.2.4 instead or do I have to reinstall gtk+-devel? How do I reconfigure gtk-config or which gtk+-devel do I donwload and install - I searched for a 2.2.4 version, but gtk+-devel seems to be hard to come by anyways, let alone 2.2.4.
Also, is gtk+-2.2.4 backwards compatible with 1.2? Cause gtk-gnutella says gtk1 is faster than gtk2 on slower computers (I've got a 200mhz p1 and 48megs of ram). Or was removing gtk1 stupid and now I've got to reinstall?
Gtk wasn't a pain before this...blargh...anyway, thanks
