Smile GTK+ 3 and MATE

Hey guys, I was just wondering if GTK+ 3 apps work in the MATE desktop environment. I use Linux Mint MATE and I know MATE is a fork of GNOME 2, but I thought that maybe they still use GTK+ 2. What do you think?

GTK 2 and GTK 3 can coexist on the syme system, so there should be no problem with running GTK 3 apps in MATE (which indeed uses GTK 2).

Thanks TobiSGD. But, I will never forget the possibility GTK+ apps will abandon GTK+ 2 support and that could cause problems.
