Good Usenet Downloading Program

Hello,

I would like to finalise my move to Linux by ceasing to use Windows for every thing except for what I really need it for (games, etc) that will not run well under wine.

Any way, I would like to know if there is a good Usenet client that would compare with Newsbin Pro for Windows? That is, it would have all of the features that Newsbin Pro has, such as SSL, handling of .nzb files, etc. I was looking mostly at Pan but, I would like to make sure that it has all these features, especially from someone who has previously used Newsbin Pro.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I don't think Pan can do SSL, but the betas can do .nbz files, the betas are much better than the ancient stable version. If Pan doesn't suit your needs, you can always try to run Newsbin Pro in wine.

klibido and pan(betas) can both use nzb. klibido is faster at downloading on my system but it is for binaries only. I do not know about ssl. If you find out please post back.

Edit: If you use stunnel for either pan or klibido. Here is a discussion of how to use it with klibido:
