In Windows I used FlashFXP. In Linux I've so far used gFTP and KBear and IglooFTP-PRO.
IglooFTP-PRO is useless. When I upload a folder, it doesn't upload the contents of the folder. And I can't figure out the interface of KBear and the interface of gFTP isn't the best.
david_ross: How do I get "ftp" running? I've tried in Run Command and even in Konsole. Nothing.
hw-tph: lftp is a command line ftp client as far as I'm aware, correct? If so... isn't it really difficult to use and get to work with? And where can I download pftp-mew? Is it good?
Also, does anyone by any chance know how to get IglooFTP-PRO working? It and gFTP are the best I've used so far in Linux. I'm using gFTP now but it's pretty slow. IglooFTP-PRO is the better one, yet when I upload a directory, it doesn't upload the contents of that directory for some reason - while the other FTP clients do.
pftp-mew is curses-based and you can get it by clicking the ">>>" link on the page I linked to in my post above. After installation you need to copy the .pftp directory in the tarball to your home directory and edit the config file inside it. Once you go mew you never go....errr...whatever.
Thanks for that. Heh, I still can't find it. :P
Is it command line, or GUI? If it's from the command line, I think I'd rather not use it... I'd prefer something GUI at the moment.
And of course, others who wish to give their comments are very much appreciated.
