gnucash-3.3.tar.bz2 actually installs gnucash v. 3.2, not 3.3

I've downloaded this tarball 3 times,

Quote:
gnucash-3.3.tar.bz2
from three places, including through gnucash.org, and I'm finding that it contains Gnucash 3.2, not 3.3.

And 3.3 has a major improvement. I installed it for someone else, so I know it's real, but now I keep getting the wrong version.
I can't figure out where my neighbour got it from, either, and she doesn't remember.

Stumped. Any thoughts out there?

Where are you obtaining the information that it is v3.2?

When gnucash runs, it says it's 3.2 under the help/about stuff.

It's also missing a feature in 3.3 that is really helpful.

Ok. The reason I asked is that it is not unknown for a software developer to forget to update the version number string in the actual program itself when they issue a new version. The version from gnucash.org appears to be packaged as v3.3 when you download it. However if you say that it is missing a feature that should be there...

Have you tried contacting gnucash themselves about this issue?

Also, if you're running a distro in the Ubuntu family, have you tried using the following PPA?

https://launchpad.net/~sicklylife/+a...ubuntu/gnucash

Thanks -
Unfortunately, that ppa doesn't "support xenial" and it seems to me very difficult to contact anyone at Gnucash.
I'm using Mint 18.3 and don't like Mint 19, so won't be upgrading unless I choose another distro - but there's too many choices lol

Have you tried contacting them on IRC?

https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/IRC

Out of interest, what is it that doesn't appeal to you about Mint 19?

Can't get Mint 19 to work properly - not usable on this box for some reason.

BUT

I just sneaker-netted a copy of the neighbour's tarball.

It worked just fine, installing v. 3.3, including the nifty thingy I wanted.

Perhaps somebody at Gnucash will somehow hear about it - IRC is too complicated for me...

Thanks anyway, guls
