gjs process cannot be killed.

I have desktop Icons NG (DING) setup on my Debian Buster. For some reason there's this process (gjs) that is running on my desktop and cannot be shutdown (see attachment). Anyone know if it's necessary and/or how to remove it? Thank you!

My package manager lists it as "Javascript Bindings for GNOME". It is required by a few gnome packages.
No idea why it shows up on your desktop.

GNOME is not very customizable; if that is your passion you should try something else.
