gFTP

Hi!

When I edit php-files in gFTP, I rightclick on the file and the file opens in Kate.

The problem is when I want to see the result of the saved php-file in the web-browser. Instead of just save the file and reload the browser(the file is being uploaded the at same time I save the file), I must save the file, close the file and then upload it to see the result.

How can I solve this problem? I just want to save the file and then reload the browser to see the result, instead of close the file etc etc.

Can anyone help me?

No, not with what you're doing. When you edit it, it's downloading the file locally. Then with kate (or whatever), editing that local file. The only way the changes can get back to the 'origin' server, is to re-upload it.

There are options, though. You could export the remote directory as an NFS or Samba share, then connect to it as you would any other network-attached drive. Fire up your editor, and edit it, since it'll be a 'local' file (that is, a file on a drive, attached to your local system), then.
