getting MS Office filetypes in Libre Office


Hello,

Im trying to set up Libre Office to accept MS Office filetypes.

I havent used MS Office for years so I googled around a bit and found a list of file types:

Quote:
.doc (word)
.docx (word)
.xls (excel)
.ppt (powerpoint)
.pptx (powerpoint)
Are there any other file types Ive missed?

What do you mean by getting it to accept MS file types? Support for those filetypes has been built for a while.

Some formatting features get a little funked up, but .docs., .pptx, etc will open and usually look fine.

The newer the LibreOffice version, the better interoperability works generally.

If you look at the LO help option, select the "Basic" section, and look in the index under "Microsoft", it has some basic information about conversion and compatibility. The free manuals here are a great source of information and advice:
