Getting error while Unzipping a UNIX ZIP file

HI All,

I am facing an issue, while unzipping an UNIX ZIpped file. The message I am getting is as below.
Can anyone please help me to get the root cause of the issue.

==============================================
/> unzip np_ARUDDP99_20110201.zip
Archive: np_ARUDDP99_20110201.zip
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of np_ARUDDP99_20110201.zip or
np_ARUDDP99_20110201.zip.zip, and cannot find np_ARUDDP99_20110201.zip.ZIP, period.
==============================================

Thanks and Regards
Rama

The error message is self explanatory, so that you've to verify only two things: 1. is the .zip file actually a ZIP archive?
Code:
file np_ARUDDP99_20110201.zip
2. Is it actually the first part of a multiple ZIP archive? In addition, please tell us which version of zip are you running and on which OS?

HI ,

Please find the answers to your questions as below.

1. I am not sure of the version of the ZIP , which I am runing. (Please guide me how to check it).
2. I am facing this issue , while creating the files on "HP-UX".

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards

So you are unzipping the files on a different machine?

So you've created the ZIP archive on the HP-UX machine and now... where you're trying to unzip it? Please, run the following commands on both the machines (if possible). To determine the version of the zip program, just run it without arguments: it will give you the usage information along with the release number:
Code:
zip
To determine the file type run the following:
Code:
file np_ARUDDP99_20110201.zip
Please show us the exact command line and the output embedded in CODE tags. Code tags are available either in Advanced Mode or in the Quick Reply. In this case just type literally the tags [CODE] and [/CODE] at the beginning and at the end of the text you want to embed, respectively. Thanks.
