PLEASE search the boards first. There are a thousand questions on this.

I like giFT though. It seems to be the only linux client that accesses the Fastrack (kazaa) network. gift.sf.net

a tip, dont run a P2P service (or almost anything for that matter) as root. Your just asking for trouble. Sorry, but lots of people seem to be doing this.

Welcome, by the way.

And dont pirate, its wrong, and it hurts all of us.

oh geez, another naysayer about filesharing, give me a break, are we living in the ice ages here? filesharing is an inevitability like it or not, i just get tired of people crying and whining about it (SORRY MOM!) lol

I mean, just look at Metallica's moral scruples....
They are outraged at people downloading their music, but yet their latest video is shot in a prison! Yeah, don't download our songs, it's baaaaaad, but we'll entertain convicted rapists and killers! What hypocrisy!

Kazaa under wine is best by the way, although it's a pain the set up sometimes. I haven't tried gift, but isn't it true that the only version so far is cvs?

That has to be the most pathetic moral reasoning I've ever seen.

"It's inevitable, like it or not" is not a valid basis for making a decision, it's merely an excuse for your own cheapness.

Options:

1) Buy the CDs and rip them (to ogg)
2) Listen to net radio. If you like trance, I suggest massinova or Music1.

Lets not start a piracy flame thread here. I was wrong to say that, even though I believe it, ive never once been able to convince someone to stop pirating, so I shouldnt have said anything.
