gcc with em_64T
Os : linux Suse Pro 9.1
Machine : Proliant ML350
gcc version : gcc-3.3.3-33
Hello,
I've a problem compiling with gcc.
My machine contains a Intel Xeon processor,
uname -m gives x86_64
uname -p gives x86_64
gcc -dumpmachine gives i686-pc-linux-gnu
When I do ./configure --prefix=$prefix, I get an error from
configure ./configure.sub x86_64-pc-linux-gnuold failed
When I do ./configure --prefix=$prefix --build=i686-pc-linux-gnu
I get an error from gcc
Checking for C compiler default output : configure : error : C compiler cannot create executables
Does someone know what is here to do ?
Is this a problem due to my gcc version or to the configure script ?
Thanks for any hint
Nadine
