OK. This has been annoying me so much, I have finally decided to post.
When either building or using a package of Galeon or epiphany it installs w/o error. When I try to run it, I always get:
Code:
(galeon-bin:30510): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gsignal.c: line 1861 (g_signal_connect_data): assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed
(galeon-bin:30510): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance
(theres more, but its all the same).
From what I have read, it might mean that I need a xft+gtk2 enabled version of Mozilla installed (I have 1.3 that came w/ Slack 9 installed).
Could that be the case? Because I havent been able to find a xft+gtk2 enabled build, and I really dont want to have to build mozilla myself.
It also seems odd that you would need that, because that doesn't sound like its a common thing most people have.
Any suggestions or advice? I have all the dependancies Galeon/Epiphany says I need (it just says Mozilla, nothing about gtk2,xft).
Also, who here has gotten Galeon to run on a Slackware 9 machine, and did you have to do anything special?
Thanks.
