Gaim misfunctioning

Gaim just stopped working for me in the sense that it quits whenever i attempt to send a message. When ran through the gaim command in a terminal I get the error message:

*** glibc detected *** corrupted double-linked list: 0x083ed6f8 ***
Aborted

The last thing I did before this was recompile my kernel through the use of genkernel (so i am of course on gentoo) to include usb printer support.
Can anyone please help?

I get those glibc errors from time to time and with various apps (XMMS, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, and so on).

That message is coming from glibc and is identifying a buglet in the app encountering the problem. XMMS 1.2.10 won't even run on my system anymore. I'm using glibc-2.3.4.

If you can, try installing a newer version of Gaim. I haven't had any problems with the glibc errors and Gaim so I'm not sure why you are.

I'm running Gaim 2.0.0 beta 2 and it works well. Give that a try and see what happens.

Peace...
