Hi I have just installed PureFtpd on FC7. I have almost everything up and running the way that I want. The only snag that I am running into is with one user. I have added user1 and his passwd. What I need to know is there anyway that I can allow him the ability to upload and download files but not move or delete anything. I can not figure out the file permission for this. If allow him upload then he is able to delete files and directories as well.
So I just wanted to know if anyone had any idea on what file permission I would need to set user1 to in order to only give him the upload and download ability.
If you need any other information from me about my current setup I will be more than happy to give you what you need.
You can use umask to set the file mode creation. I'm not familiar with pureftpd, but vsftpd and proftpd that I've used let you define a umask. You can set it to
I didn't know that pure-ftpd uses commands to alter its configuration!!! Reading the documentation you need to use the -U switch. So I guess "-U 277:077" will do.
