Fresh install


Hey, got a couple questions, i'm running winxp pro on one hd, and i want to load mandrake on a totally serporate hd that i just baught, how would i go about doing it...i'm new to this and need some help...i have no floopy drive so i need some help doing a fresh install straight from the disk if thats possible...any info would be great, thanks

You boot from CD, hit enter to install. It will find the empty partition and you can set it to automagically configure it. It will not overwrite your Windows XP.

Go through the install. On reboot, you will have the choice of booting to Windows or Linux at a LILO or GRUB boot prompt. I think Mandrake uses LILO.

Good choice on getting the other HD if you wanna dual boot. Most users try to install it into a windows directory... not kidding.
