I have been trying to get NoMachines NX client installed on Ubuntu to connect to FreeNX server installed on Mandriva 2006 without success. I get "failed to authenticate" messages. I have tried to generate new keys, installed them, and still get authentication errors.

I finally decided to uninstall freenx server and re-install it. That creates new user keys. After reading the doc, there are instructions on where to install the key on the client for Knx and Windoze, but not for NoMachines NX client.

Would someone who has it working post the location I need to put the client.id_dsa.key, the owner and group of the file and the correct read write permissions.

I have been on NoMachines site many times, but I can not find the information.

I read many posts with similar problems, but almost no solutions.

Your input is appreciated.

on the nxclient ui there is a "key" button below the username. paste it into the popup box that appears there.
