Freeing Linux Partition

Hello again!!!
I hope if someone can help me out with this:
I have a 50GB hard-disk, out of which I have allocated 14GB to Linux RedHat-9, and rest to window XP, now I have to format my system, i.e. free all the partitions and reinstall everything.
I have heard that it not easy to free the linux partition, please I wonder if some one can explain me how to free Linux Partition.
Thanx for your patience and time.
Regards
Harbir

You just want to nuke everything? As in, totally format your disk? That isn't hard to do. Just use whatever partitioning program you like and delete the partitions as normal. If you're using DOS fdisk, you'll have to tell it to delete "Non-MSDOS" partitions in order to delete them. I also recommend you use DOS fdisk to "fdisk /mbr". (if "/mbr" doesn't work try "-mbr". I forget whether you have to use a "/" or a "-") This will clean out any boot loaders you've got installed.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.
