free forum software


hello I'm not sure this question belongs here or not but I have a website I would like to start a forum on but i don't have the time or skill to create the code for one besides why reinvent the wheel so does anybody know where i could get one to use on my website
I would like it to be under the GPL lisense but it doesn't have to be

ok whats meant by install path using ftp and what is the corrrect port im not sure where to find such info my host if that is helpful is smallbusiness.yahoo.com

Have you selected a forum software? Is this a new question? What are you talking about? You have not laid any groundwork or explanation of your question.

You need to make sure that your host meets the requirements for the forum software, and that you have the permission to add or modify anything that needs to be installed or changed. The answer of whether you can do it depends on the software package you've chosen and the host you are going with. If you look at your host's support or help site, it's very likely that they have a list of forum software that others have installed on their systems successfully.
