flash programing

can you do this on a linux box? I'm new to the linux world and i've used it on windows but can you use it on a linux machine if so are there any similar programs out there that are better?

i'm working on a webpage and i'm wanting to do some flash graphics for it.

I imagine it can be done through Wine or some emulation. I know that PHP supports flash through some library. I don't know how well it works:

thanks for the help. i've heard i could build it on a windows machine and then upload it to the public HTML folder on the server. which may be easier as i have more experience with flash in windows and none in linux. but you gotta learn some time.
