When i typed fwmon in terminal, the error mesage display.

Therefore, i try to search the configuration for fwmon. I typed locate fwmon but i could not find any configuration file.

Are you running it as root? Try the -v option, maybe you'll get some more info about the error.

I running the firewall monitor(fmon) as root. I also follow your command as above fwmon -v.

This only give me the version of the fwmon.

fwmon: Firewall Monitor (fwmon) v1.1.0
Copyright (c) 2001,2002 Gianni Tedesco
Released under the terms of the GNU GPL Version 2

Do i need to edit the configuration file because i have not yet do that ?

Uhm sorry, i've never used it. It seems that -v stands for version and not for verbose..I think this program doesn't have a configuration file. I've had a look at the README (very fast) and it also talk about iptables...read it carefully maybe you have to run some commands before starting it.
