Firestarter help

I downloaded firestarter but when i try to launch it as a user it says I need root privelages
and I dont get the root password pop up box.

I dont how to get this working without the root password box, nor how to get the root password box up.

Is there another GUI ŧo iptables that *doesnt* need root privelages ?

Or can amyone explain how to sort this out ?

slackware 10 using Gnome 2

Since you are using Gnome I can't help much.
In KDE I type "kdesu firestarter" in a terminal windows, the login pops up, I enter the root pass and firestarter starts. For Gnome I do not know.
