firefox won't change themes

I haven't found an answer for this anywhere yet...

I just installed firefox on my laptop running gentoo with fluxbox. I have tried to use the modern theme instead of default, but the theme never changes, I've even rebooted after telling it to change, but it still uses the default. I have tried to download a theme also, I chose it but it work either. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks.

Are you trying to use an old firefox(or even firebird) theme with a newer Firefox browser? Because it does not seem to be backward compatible , at least, it was not when I last tried to use themes in Firefox

it's the latest firefox, just downloaded it today, and I got the theme by going to the preferences window and clicking get more themes, and I picked one about halfway down on the new site that loaded. It downloaded, installed, and said I needed to restart firefox before the settings would start. It also appears that it isn't remembering the history, or passwords, or the settings for the "Alert me when I send data unencrypted" etc.

well I got it to change themes now, it didn't apply the proper colors to the first theme I downloaded, so I got a few more and 1 of them is working properly, but it still won't use the modern theme.

And it is remembering settings now. I don't know what I did or didn't do

If anybody has any ideas, I'm listening, but it's not a problem much for me anymore, just annoys me a little.
