I've searched for such an option but I cannot find it. If I knew where to go in the text files I would edit it there instead.

This was not a problem when I had OpenOffice installed. Argh.

There was advice given...

There is a plug-in for opening OO/Libre documents in Firefox. Here is the location in OpenOffice, but the location and setting are the same in LibreOffice.

http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2007/09/o...ithin-firefox/

This does not however automatically open the document.

The Mozilla libreoffice plugin only exists for Ubuntu.

I'm running Fedora 14.

That plug-in...

The plug-in that I have linked to is a part of both OpenOffice and LibreOffice. Are you sure that you do not have it as a built-in feature in the version of the program you have installed?

The plug-in exists for more than Ubuntu: I have it in my copy of LibreOffice under openSUSE 11.4. It is a standard feature.

I cannot find that plug-in anywhere in LibreOffice's settings. And how can I find this plug-in for Fedora? I've gotten nothing but a total run-around when trying to google for it and I've asked about it here before in this thread.

In any case I've given up on this problem. I really prefer to be able to one-click download a file from Firefox's download window rather than downloading it and hunting around my filesystem for the thing, so I'm uninstalling LibreOffice to reinstall OpenOffice... and praying that I didn't already thoroughly bollocks up my settings such that I can't restore the lost functionality. This has been an absolutely huge hit on my productivity.

I'm not even going to try and ask any Calibre expert on how to fix it on Calibre's end... I know that is a total non-starter. And migrating to Fedora 15, which uses LibreOffice by default? No way. Not after this. What a mess.
