firefox 1.1 compiled on my laptop: no working extensions box

I have compiled firefox 1.1 on my pentium IV, linux yoper.

All fine the app fires up and works well.

Problems come when installing extensions: the extension box comes up, but it neither shows already installed extensions nor the ones that one chooses to install show up in it while downloading them.

In a world, the extension control box is ever empty, neither I may install new ones.

This is my .mozconfig file:

. $topsrcdir/browser/config/mozconfig
ac_add_options --enable-optimize
ac_add_options --disable-debug
ac_add_options --enable-default-toolkit=gtk2
ac_add_options --enable-xft
ac_add_options --disable-freetype2
ac_add_options --disable-tests
ac_add_options --enable-optimize="-O2"
ac_add_options --enable-extensions=all

BTW, the mozilla documentation for compiling the app sucks.

Is there any place with detailed build instructions?

I was planning to compile a new binary for pentium IV, but documentation is really scant.

I'm just curious as to why you compiled it from source when they have an installer?

You know, the old source code question for which linux and gnu were ideated ...

It works better because it is optimized for your machine (compiler O2 settings, good for 686)
