file sync software

what is the best file sync software for linux? I'm looking for something like viceversa or memeo... Basically, I want it to run all the time, detect changes to sync'd files and copy them to my NAS.

Any suggestions?

rsync is the best syncing sofware in Linux. It can sync files without much network transfer and works pretty fast. You can schedule running rsync periodically by using cron.

If you are looking for a GUI, QSync and Grsync are both front-ends for rsync.

great website...

However, I am still looking. Nothing is really matching what I am wanting. From what I understand, rsync is basically more of a batch sync tool. I want something that is fairly transparent to me - I don't want to "tell" it to run, I want it to "Know" when I file has changed and either send or receive the changes automatically. A GUI would be wonderful, but if the software works as I stated above, I don't mind setting it up without the GUI. Any more ideas?

Keep is supposed to do that, but I can only get it to work for local drives.

Simple Backup might work as well. I know it can schedule backups, but I haven't tried it myself.

SBAdmin is the closest I have found to Vice Versa, but it is non-free.

Unfortunately backup seems to be one of the areas where good easy to use consumer apps don't seem to live up to their billing right now. I'm personally still looking for that meets all of my needs as well.
