File Server RAID-5

My root filesystem is loaded across 2 40gb hdds with raid 2 and there are absolutly no problems booting my machine into linux BUT, I also have 4 SATA seagate 300GB hdds on a promise sata card.
Here is my problem:

-My 4 SATA drives are setup using RAID 5, I set them up using mdadm.
"mdadm -C /dev/md3 --auto -n4 -l5 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 /dev/sdd1" I then created a mount location (/archives) then I manually mounted the filesystem (after formatting it)...I can use the drives just fine. I then added entrys in to fstad, mtab, and mdadm.conf (see below)... I have been looking at about 30 webpages and some say use one, some say use the other...I just used them all... ok, everything looks just fine to me...but I obviously don't know shit, lol. when I reboot the machine, the RAID will not start, nor will it mount. I can restart the array using "mdadm -As /dev/md3" (or by recreating it, and lose no data either way) but its a huge pain in my ass... How can I get these drives to load/mount on boot?

(/dev/md3 are my SATA drives)
I have other info such as my dmesg if you think you need it to help me
Fstab:
/etc/fstab: static file system information.

anyone? I am going to try and keep this alive as long as possible....

I tried to Install debian etch hoping that the installation partitioner would autodetect my drives, that way I would be able to setup the raid there, but no luck, the etch cd I got blows, lol.
Please help, This is driving me INSANE
