file path for win executables when using Wine

I'm trying to debug a win exe file using OllyDbg. Obviously both Ollydbg and the win exe are installed through Wine.

When I try to open the exe in Ollydbg, the .wine folder in Ollydbg's Open file directory is not visible. Even though it's visible when I browse the file directory normally through Linux.

Anyone any ideas what I'm missing/doing wrong?

Thanks.

if I understand well, you want to open a directory (from linux it was /home/user/.wine) from windows/wine. But wine can only see the directories mapped to c: d: or similar, wine cannot see the whole linux filesystem. You need to check the configuration of wine, but I'm afraid mapping .wine is not a good idea.

Thanks for replying. I would like to debug a Windows executable file using a debugging program that works through Wine. The debugging program can't see the executable because I can't navigate to the exe file.

I think the best thing to do is use a Linux based debugging program.

Wine creates a C:/ drive. That is where you should be looking.

Thanks. That's what I was missing. It's my first time using Wine.

In WINE, your normal filesystem is the Z: drive.
