file copy error


when i try to copy a file from cd , it says input output error while i am able to play it directly from there ?

What command are you using? You could add a little more info on your problem here ya?

after mounting cdrom ...i am using suse 8.2 ... mount /cdrom then cp /cdrom/file.dat /windows/e/
and am running it as root .... have even tried other destination like /tmp etc
but same result but mplayer -vcd 1 works .....that means it is able to read the fiel...

cp: reading `AVSEQ01.DAT': Input/output error
