fedora core 9


Dear all,
m new to linux. I installed fedora core 9 on my laptop. But m not able to play the media(i.e. mp3,avi,vob,etc...) Can any body suggest me a good way of installing all the codecs necessary for playing multimedia files........


My PC is offline...
pls give me some download-ables and the way to install them......

offline fedora 9

are there any ways to install multimedia players offline...
pls let me know.every method asks for an internet connection.
My pc is offline.

You could download the rpm's
http://rpmfind.net/
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3
and transfer them to your computer.

Well, you can obviously get online SOMEWHERE, otherwise you wouldn't be able to post....

As repo suggested, you can download the RPM's manually, and copy them over for installation, but be prepared for a lengthy process. Most RPM's will have dependencies, and THEY will have dependencies too.

The easiest thing to do, would be to take your computer somewhere you can get online, and it'll complete in no time.

off line would be " fun" and difficult . the best way would be to get online with the laptop and use dangermouse's autonine ( fedora 10 is current so autoten is shown on the site )
