Why is that the only icons I can select for my custom launchers are in the /usr/share/pixmaps? If I try to browse to any other folders every selectable icon is listed but greyed out so it cannot be selected?
Are there some kind of security settings that can modified to fix this?
You navigate to the directory that has the images you want to use and all the icons will be greyed out. In the box that shows which directory you are in, put your mouse cursor there and press enter. After that the directory of images will refresh and you will be able to choose the icons from that directory.
