fc6 ndiswrapper dongle permission error

Hey,
I am running fc6_64 with reasonable success, but have so far been unable to get my USB wireless adapter working. The real problem is that I haven't found a site advising on fc6 ndiswrapper errors, so a pointer to that should be all the help I need. I think I have correctly installed ndiswrapper. I have viewed sites relevant to other distributions, so I think I have the relevant windows drivers for my BT Voyager 1055 dongle (I have the 1040 driver, but that's the closest I can find. Is there one I could get of the accompanying CD?) and have the files called:
bcmwl5a.inf
bcmwl5.inf
bcmwl5.sys
which should be enough to run it. I am not sure which of the .inf files I should use, and I am not sure how to use the ndiswrapper command. As root?
Here are my latest error messages. I have not tried as root yet, because I am concerned by the fact that ndiswrapper got to line 138 before being denied permission, but I'm a newbie, so I scare easily:

[jon@localhost 80211g]$ ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5a.inf
bash: ndiswrapper: command not found
[jon@localhost 80211g]$ /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5a.inf
couldn't create /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmwl5a: Permission denied at /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper line 138.
[jon@localhost 80211g]$ /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
couldn't create /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmwl5: Permission denied at /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper line 138.

So, if anyone could give me a step by step on what to do next that would be ace (especially, when I should plug in the usb). If anyone can find a site covering fc6, dongles and ndiswrapper, that would be good, and if anyone can shed light on the root thing, or this error message, that would be cool.
Thanks for your time, and I look forward to hearing from yous,
Jon,
xxx

Yes you need to be root or the equivalent in order to load the kernel module.

Second you are aware that the Windows driver needs to be the 64-bit version since you are running a 64-bit OS hopefully. Check the CD for the 64-bit Windows Driver.
