expense report in Gnucash?

i can't for the life of me figure out how to print out a report that will show all of my expenses (broken down into the subaccounts) in text form over a given time. "account summary" seems to be the best option, but i can't figure out how to specify a date range.

well, i finally figured it out. the appropriate report is, confusingly enough, "income statement". from there you can select the accounts that you want to include. once the report is printed, you select "options" from the toolbar, which allows you to narrow the date.
