i have installed wine-20030408-1rh8winehq.i386.rpm on my P4 machine,running RH8 with kernel
2.4.18-14.i have configured wine.conf in /etc/wine/wine.conf.but i can run only
notepad.exe,regedit.exe.what should i do to run my other exe's.whenever i run other exe's i get
#wine c:\\windows\\xxxx.exe
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory),ignoring drive A:
Could not stat /cdrom (No such file or directory), ignoring drive D:
wine: cannot find 'c:\windows\xxxx.exe
i have 4 fat32 partitions running win98,winXP on first 2 partitions.i have edited wine.conf as
[Drive C]
"Path" = "/mnt/c:"
"Type" = "hd"
"Label" = "xxx"
"Filesystem" = "vfat"
where /mnt/c: is mount point for c:
samething i have done for my d:,e:,f:
can anyone help me please?
having a : in a filename is a real bad idea... you should change that asap. the error you have clearly talks about a cdrom and (slightly less clearly...) floppy drives... but you've only provided information about the hard drive, which is not related to the errors at all. basically though the error mesages seem to speak for themselves... /cdrom doesn't exist.... is that true? where is the cd drive normally mounted?
well,i have mounted my cdrom from the following dir
/mnt/cdrom--------->(CDROM)
/mnt/cdrom1-------->(CD writer)
iam not trying to run any files from cdrom but from my hard drive that's why i
have specified my hdd's spec's.i don't understand what is "having a: as file
name is bad idea"?????why is that error caused and why wine is able to run only notepad.exe
and regedit.exe is there any problem with my configuration file that i have edited?
but i have changed my mount pount its not still working.then first two lines in the error message's disappeared but the other one wine: cannot find 'c:\windows\xxxx.exe
still persist's.
Don't use a pre-existing windows install, that's a bad idea. Use a fake windows setup instead - oh, and wine is one thing you should really compile from the source, or even CVS.
the ./tools/wineinstall script will setup a fake windows drive for you.
